I am a abstract painter. I have a diplomia in Visual Arts.
My artwork is painted with mix mediums, ranging from Acrylics, Resin and powders.
My work centres on the reactions of the viewer, for it is their participation in the work that finishes the purpose of the artwork.
When making my work, I am interested in expressing my opinions, emotions and experiences into abstract design. Although the work is an expression of my personal experiences, they are equally open for personal projection of the viewer. Whether or not it is positive of negative, I aim for an emotion response from the viewer. Similarly, I am not interested necessarily in the viewer understanding my perspective on that which my oeuvre represents, but rather, to react to how it has been expressed.
The process of creating for me is a great source of joy. In 1980, Graham Green wrote that “Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.” For me, this rings true. However, importantly even though the colours in my work are dark, my intention is not.
